WAECO CoolAir CA-800: Compressor technology for perfect air conditioning
The unique, vehicle-specific roof air conditioner, the CoolAir CA-800, is the ideal air conditioning system for lorry cabs. A trucker's job behind the steering wheel is tough enough. That means there can be no compromises when it comes to rest breaks. But how can they recuperate in bright sunshine or on hot nights? Only a compressor air conditioning unit can guarantee reliable cooling. The new CoolAir CA-800 has several advantages over other cooling systems:
First, it uses the physical principle that cold air sinks. This means the CA-800 is particularly effective, because it is roof mounted. It is extremely energy-efficient with the engine turned off. If provides a comfortable climate on board – completely independently of outside conditions. As well as this, the CoolAir CA-800 not only prevents the cab from heating up, but also dehumidifies the air for extra comfort. Heat and humidity are kept out, which means the driver and passenger can continue their tour completely refreshed and with maximum concentration.
The WAECO CoolAir CA-800 not only contributes to road safety. It provides double protection for the occupants, because the windows can be kept closed, keeping out uninvited “guests”.
The clever yet simple mounting of the compressor air conditioner is also unique. With mounting kits for nearly all common types of truck used in long-distance haulage, installation can be carried out very quickly. The existing hole for the roof hatch is converted into a perfect location for the CA-800. So that no-one need go without the comfort of a CoolAir, there are two universal installation kits for all less common truck models, with or without roof hatch.
Compared to conventional direct evaporator systems, the job of servicing the the WAECO CoolAir CA-800 is very simple. The hermetically sealed system needs no topping up of refrigerant. Nor does the water have to be topped up or the water tank cleaned. Finally, a built-in battery monitor ensures that the engine will always start. This is because the compressor roof air conditioner automatically switches off when the battery voltage falls below an individually adjustable level.
Other comfort features such as a convenient remote control and an adjustable, gentle air flow make the system an ideal addition to the existing vehicle air conditioning unit.
