WAECO: ASC Family Gains New Member
AirCon Service Center with integrated refrigerant analysis function
We’re pleased to announce a new addition to our proven, fully-automatic WAECO AirCon Service Centers. To add to the three existing AirCon Service Centers, the air conditioning specialists are proud to unveil their latest innovation - the ASC2000 RPA. Due to its integrated RPA (Refrigerant Purity Analyze) electronic refrigerant analysis module, the ASC2000 prevents contaminated refrigerant or air gaining access to service centers. Since AirCon Service Centers and vehicle air conditioning systems are only guaranteed to function reliably with pure R134a, this is a crucial matter. Refrigerant that is contaminated or mixed with air will inevitably result in damage.
Ultimate protection against fatal damage in AirCon Service Centers begins even before the actual recycling process has started. A sample of the refrigerant is taken and this is analysed in a matter of seconds. The results of the test appear on the display and provide users with important qualitative information about the condition of the refrigerant in the connected vehicle air conditioning system. This enables repair and maintenance work to be performed faster and more effectively. Once the refrigerant has been checked, all the usual ASC2000 processes start up fully automatically.
The RPA analysis module recognises gases like R12, R22, propane (used in the retrofit gas Iscon 49, R413a) and non-condensable gas such as air as foreign matter and displays these with a resolution of 0.1 percent accuracy with respect to weight. If the refrigerant is deemed to be impure on the basis of the results measured, the user knows to steer well clear of it. The consequences of not heeding advice of this nature can be extremely serious. Higher operating pressures can cause functional problems in an air conditioning system due to the heavy load placed on suction and pressure valves in the compressor and air that is infiltrated with moisture can lead to corrosion, all of which adds up to a considerable reduction in a system’s cooling performance.
The new ASC2000 RPA will provide reliable protection for your workshop from unpleasant surprises of this type - quickly and fully automatically.
