New: now also for deep-freeze vehicles
WAECO completes its offer of fully integrated equipment kits for refrigerated vehicles
A new name, a new product range – but all the benefits remain the same. WAECO's fully integrated equipment kits for refrigerated vehicles are no longer called Frigosoft but DiaviaFrigo. The "soft" times are gone – from now on WAECO's mobile refrigeration technology is also ensures reliable deep-freeze cooling, while stationary and while driving. The A/C specialists have revised, upgraded and optimised all components of the former system generation to meet the new requirements.
Naturally all proven benefits of the WAECO technology have been retained. A crucial advantage is that all system components are perfectly integrated into the vehicle, so there's nothing on the roof. Series-production vans or transporters are quickly turned into fresh service vehicles at minimum costs. Needless to say, DiaviaFrigo technology meets all relevant legal requirements with regard to the transport of perishable foodstuffs and is certified according to ATP/DIN 8958.
Three new systems
Bakers, foodstuff retailers, butchers, market stall sellers and catering businesses now have three system kits to choose from: DiaviaFrigo 2000, DiaviaFrigo 3000 and DiaviaFrigo 4000 (all available from May 2005). All types of transporters, big or small, new or old can be converted into fully equipped refrigerated vehicles. The retrofit kits are customised to suit different vehicle sizes: DiaviaFrigo 2000 for fast and easy conversion of smaller vans with refrigeration capacities up to five cubic metres (e. g. VW Caddy or Renault Kangoo); DiaviaFrigo 3000 for normal size transporters up to 14 cubic metres refrigeration capacity (e. g. VW T5, Mercedes Sprinter or Opel Vivaro); DiaviaFrigo 4000 for the so called „big minis“ with up to 18 cubic metres capacity (e. g. Iveco Daily).
In either case, the complete kit includes an evaporator unit, automatic temperature control as well as customised compressor and condenser mounting kits to suit specific vehicles, including all parts needed for installation as well as the complete, pre-assembled cabling. With this turn-key kit at hand, installation can start immediately, the only precondition being a properly insulated vehicle.
The new system generation offers a choice of three motor mounting kits: the "Basic Line" for refrigeration only, the "Professional Line" for refrigeration and deep-freezing as well as the "Comfort Line" for vehicles with factory-fitted air conditioning system. Also the evaporator unit, the heart of each DiaviaFrigo system, has been once again improved. The outcome: new technical features, new looks and an even better cooling performance at the same energy consumption.
The vehicle's outline remains unchanged
The fully integrated design of the WAECO systems offers significant advantages in terms of safety and practical use. As all components are perfectly integrated into the vehicle, there's no need to cut through in the roof, and no need for roof-mounted parts either. And that means: no problems going where are headroom restrictions, e. g. when driving through underground car parks, and more safety when the vehicle has to swerve in an emergency, because its centre gravity has not been raised significantly by an additional weight on the roof top. No loss of vehicle body rigidity and no need for additional corrosion proofing that would otherwise occur when the roof would have to be cut through. As the components are installed inside the vehicle, neither its appearance nor its aerodynamics are affected, which in turn reduces the fuel consumption.
Temperature check from the driver's seat
New in the DiaviaFrigo range are also the consoles for the digital temperature control display on the dashboard. Available as an optional extra, the consoles are customised to fit specific vehicles and designed to match the original colours of vehicle interior. The digital temperature control not only keeps the driver informed of the temperature in the cargo compartment, it can also be used to adjust the cooling performance simply by pressing a button.
Stationary cooling and quick defrosting
A very useful optional extra is the electric stationary cooling system. A powerful second compressor mounted under the front passenger seat reliably maintains the temperature in the refrigerated compartment during stationary operation. The stationary cooling system is supplied with mains power via a splash-water protected plug mounted on the outside of the vehicle. Another innovative feature designed for enhanced driver comfort is the electric defrosting system – also available as an optional extra. The system uses powerful PTC heating elements to accelerate evaporator defrosting and minimise standstill times.
